1. Introduction
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before booking any driving lessons with Automan Driving Solutions. By making a booking, you agree to be bound by these terms.
These terms apply to all driving tuition booked directly through us, whether via our website at automandrivingsolutions.com, by telephone, or by email.
2. About Us
Automan Driving Solutions is a driving school operating in Tyne and Wear. We provide driving tuition services.

3. Our Services
Unlike third-party agency-model schools, Automan Driving Solutions instructors are directly in contact with you to provide your lessons.
We will inform you of available lesson slots, pricing, and instructor availability when you contact us or visit our website.
Lessons can only be booked for individuals who meet ALL of the following criteria:
- Aged 17 or over (or 16 or over if receiving the higher rate of the Personal Independence Payment, mobility component)
- Holds a valid UK provisional driving licence, full UK driving licence, or an eligible overseas driving licence
- Is legally entitled to drive in the UK
On your first lesson you must present your instructor with a valid driving licence.
You must notify us immediately of any circumstances that affect your ability or entitlement to receive driving tuition, including any loss of or restriction on your driving licence.
4. Booking and Payment
4.1 Lesson Fees
All lesson fees include VAT where applicable and are quoted in pounds sterling (GBP). Pricing will be clearly communicated to you before you confirm your booking.
4.2 Packages and Minimum Bookings
We may offer lesson packages with a minimum number of hours. Available packages and fees will be communicated at the time of booking.
4.3 Payment Methods
Accepted payment methods will be communicated at the time of booking. Payment must be received in advance of your lesson, at least 48 hours before the scheduled start time to reserve the slot.
4.4 Incorrect Pricing
In the unlikely event that a lesson fee has been quoted or displayed incorrectly, we will contact you before confirming the booking. If you do not wish to proceed at the correct price, you will receive a full refund of any amount already paid.
5. Changes to Bookings
5.1 Cancellations by You
You must give at least 48 hours’ notice if you wish to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Notice can be given by:

If you fail to give at least 48 hours’ notice, you will be charged the full lesson fee for that session, except exceptional circumstances, like medical emergency ( A & E ), last minute doctor appointment and life and death situations (with proof).
5.2 Cancellations by Us
In the event that we need to cancel a lesson, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer to reschedule at your earliest convenience. You will not be charged for lessons cancelled by us.
5.3 Driving Test Cancellations
The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) requires at least 10 full working days’ notice to cancel or reschedule a driving test without losing your test fee. We strongly recommend checking the DVSA website for current requirements. We are not liable for any DVSA test fees lost due to late cancellation.
6. Refunds
You are entitled to a refund of pre-paid lesson fees for lessons not yet taken, subject to the following conditions:
- Lessons cancelled with at least 48 hours’ notice are fully refundable.
- Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice are non-refundable.
- Lessons that have already been delivered are non-refundable.
- Where a discounted package has been purchased and lessons have been taken, the remaining balance will be recalculated at the standard hourly rate before any refund is issued.
Refunds will be issued using the same payment method where possible and may take up to 10 working days to reach your account.
Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by these terms.
7. Cooling-Off Period
If you are a consumer booking for the first time, you may have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of your initial booking and receive a full refund, provided no lessons have been taken.
Once lessons have commenced, refunds will only be issued for the unused portion of any pre-paid lessons, in accordance with Section 6 above.
8. Pricing Changes
Pre-paid lesson fees are valid at the rate agreed at the time of booking. If you request a change of lesson type (e.g., from manual to automatic) or if a package discount is subject to a minimum commitment, any lessons already taken will be charged at the applicable rate.
We reserve the right to update our pricing. Any changes will be communicated clearly and will not affect lessons already paid for, except where you request a change to your booking type.
9. Special Offers and Discounts
From time to time we may offer introductory or promotional rates. These offers:
- Are available to new pupils only, unless otherwise stated
- Cannot be combined with other offers
- Are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time
- Are applied to the first booking only, unless explicitly stated otherwise
10. Intensive / Short Notice Courses
We may offer intensive driving courses where lessons are arranged over a short period, including close to a booked driving test. For such packages:
- A minimum number of hours will apply as communicated at the time of booking
- An initial assessment lesson will be conducted before test preparation lessons are confirmed
- If your instructor determines you are not ready for the test following the assessment, additional lessons may be recommended. We are not liable for any DVSA test fees in this situation.
- Additional hours booked within the intensive period will be charged at the standard hourly rate
11. Your Responsibilities
As a pupil, you are responsible for:
- Holding a valid driving licence and providing it to your instructor at the first lesson
- Informing us of any medical conditions or legal restrictions that affect your ability to drive
- Arriving on time for all lessons. Late arrivals may result in a shorter lesson without a refund for the missed time
- Treating instructors with respect at all times
We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue tuition if a pupil’s conduct is unsafe, disruptive, or disrespectful.
12. Our Liability
12.1 What we are responsible for
We are responsible for ensuring your lessons are delivered by a qualified, DVSA-registered instructor in a roadworthy and insured vehicle.
12.2 Limitations
We are not liable for:
- Delays or cancellations due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., severe weather, accidents, instructor illness), provided we notify you promptly
- Any DVSA test fees lost due to late cancellation or failed assessments
- Losses that could not reasonably have been foreseen at the time of booking
- Any business losses (we provide consumer services only)
Our total liability under these terms shall not exceed the total lesson fees paid by you.
12.3 What we do not exclude
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- Any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law
13. Insurance
All lessons are conducted in a fully insured tuition vehicle. Your instructor holds appropriate motor vehicle insurance providing cover for you as a learner driver while in control of the tuition vehicle.
14. Your Account and Booking Details
If you create an account on our website or are issued with login credentials:
- Your credentials are personal and must not be shared
- You are responsible for all bookings and activity made under your account
- Please notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any changes will be published on our website at automandrivingsolutions.com. Your continued use of our services after changes have been published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
We recommend you save or print a copy of these terms for your records.

17. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless you reside in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in which case you may also bring proceedings in the appropriate local courts.
